As We Fall Into The Sun
08:28
|
|||
awoke to sounds of exhortation
system alarms wail through the air
rushed down to check the monitors
met by burning death all around
this day all meet their end
in a fiery blaze
as we fall into the sun
down in a spiral pull
too late for any course correction
too late to break free from the well
all sit and pray for their exemption
from deserved eternities in hell
a life of piracy brings fortune
plunder to drink another day
but karma always takes her portion
and now she comes to claim her pay
this day all meet their end
in a fiery blaze
as we fall into the sun
down in a spiral
no man-made construct will withstand
pure force of nature
trivial tin can in the vastness of space
crushed and boiled into vapour

Spirit
05:00
|
|||
upon this day in hell she leaves
and none but I regard
awayed as whispersin the breeze
in turn relieves my heart
of the burden of her love
nevermore shall I fear again
for there is naught that I have
my own life I would not defend
there she lies,
hollow eyes, cut ties
choke my cries, it’s time
all must die, her time
can this be the end of
all I wanted
too late to save her so now
I must let go
spirit long gone
left love with your passing
fearing your absence
in heart everlasting
drown, I’ll drown
hollow life, shut down
end my strife, here now
noose is tied, my time
can this be the end of
all I wanted
too late to save her so now
I must let go, I let go

The Desert Sky
06:59
|
|||
open up my eyes, and all I see
scorching light, blinding me
sand searing my flesh
course and rough
pounding head, dusted mouth
lost in barren lands, no memory
of where or how I came to be
marooned with no sight of society
no living thing, a mystery
hellish sun from the desert sky
beats down my broken shell
parched and dry in the dunes I lie
the last tale I shall tell
willpower to stand comes over me
to gaze upon where I may be
heat waves in the air distort the light
illusions form where falls my sight
feel my strength draw low
collapse once more
burning ground dull, ignored
no one will know how I met my end
all trace erased by wind and sand
hellish sun from the desert sky
beats down this empty land
Dead and dried in the dunes I lie
just one more low soul damned
“death arrives among all that sound
like a shoe with no foot in it
like a suit with no man in it, comes and knocks using a ring with no stone in it,
with no finger in it, comes and shouts
with no mouth, with no tongue, with no throat
nevertheless its steps can be heard
and its clothing makes a hushed sound”

Natural Death
04:36
|
|||
take it all
scrape it all that you can take
burn it all
‘til there’s nothing left to save
abuse it all
your actions sealing all our fate
then convince the masses
it’s straws that kill
poison her
toxic waste into her blood
choke her
then destroy and gas her lungs
bleed her dry
drill your riches from the mud
how can you be surprised
she has had enough
it’s time to get what we’ve earned
we’ve worked hard
and now it’s our turn
carved until nothing’s left
now nature waits
and plans for our death
ignored the warning signs shown
dug our own graves
bless humanity’s soul
scorched until nothing’s left
now nature plots
and prepares our death
time to end the plague
of humanity
the seas rise up, consume
our lands burn down, renew

hushed sound of breeze through the window
cool air strikes my skin
I feel uneasy, hairs raised on my arms
a distant voice calls to me inside my head
hear my song call to you, with earnest word
her time here by your side, draws to an end
the message of its song settles on me
and my gaze falls beside me where she lay
beauty unsurpassed, I could not lose her
then that voice takes form before my eyes
hear my song call to you, with earnest word
her time here by your side, draws to an end
in my disarray I resolve to heed the warning
unearthly being takes an interest in my fortune
my only love will not be taken from me
unnatural thoughts creep into my head
there’s no doubt within my mind
this otherworldly voice is kind
here to warn me of our fate
prevent the loss of what’s at stake
with singleminded vision
I focus on its crafted image
of her sickness and pain
insidiously planted in my brain
wrapped up in my own terror
as reality morphs to mirror
I see her skin turn pale
her body deflated, blanched and frail
such focused hallucination
keeps my attention off oration
from the other room
where my daughter wakes
to face the eyes of a demon
she screams for help but no one hears
caught up in constructed nightmares
compilation of her fears
in its infernal blight she’s snared
it whispers in my mind
this otherworldly voice tells lies
my love awakes to see me recoil
from her lifeless body soiled
as my visions quickly fade
the distorted view of her gives way
confusion and fear in both our eyes
we hear the echo of a cry
rush to the source to find her gone
our precious daughter small and young
turn to my love in disbelief
I meet her eyes but see no grief
she morphs again before me, this time I know it’s real
takes up the form that sang the call
taunting as to my knees I fall
hear my song call to you, with earnest word
her time here by your side, draws to an end

A Song For Solitude
06:31
|
|||
a pit of longing inside
reminder of how I haven't tried
when I see you
a life of disconnection
as shadow, a faint reflection
in the rearview
watching as you go through
oblivious to my need for you
knowing now what I always knew
you will never feel as I want you to
sitting alone in stillness
while you laugh and dance, guiltless
you will never know
of the self-pity I wallow in
the torment beneath my skin
of the pain you sow
every move you made hit me below the belt
but I never tried to tell you what I felt
my days will continue passing into forever
with you naught but a distant, failed endeavour
watching as you pass by
oblivious to my tearful eyes
knowing you're unaware, but I...
can never say goodbye
